Amy is a photographer, 500-hour registered yoga instructor and advanced reiki practitioner. She graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design and spent a decade in New York City working as a photographer. She is known for her fine art photography as well as her portrait, food, travel, interior, and still-life work. She has experimented with a wide variety of photographic techniques including flashlight painting, gutted Holga cameras and infrared filters.
Amy first tried yoga while seeking refuge from the bustle of New York City. What she discovered was a true path towards health and contentment. After practicing yoga for several years, Amy completed a 200-hour teacher training with Sankalpah Yoga and began teaching in NYC. After teaching for a couple of years, she finished the Laughing Lotus 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training, studying with Dana Flynn, Raganauth Cappo, Elena Brower and a host of other amazing teachers. In 2017, she completed a 300-hour Therapeutically Oriented Teacher Certification at the Asheville Yoga Center where she learned the therapeutic essentials of yoga to work with stress, injuries and illness. She studied children’s yoga with Jane Anne Tager at the Asheville Yoga Center and is a Kidding Around Yoga certified children’s yoga instructor. Amy likes to filter her artistic background into her yoga classes. She incorporates a creative vinyasa flow threaded with breath, meditation, mudras and a passion for music.
